1. Who is responsible

Newton Poole, trading as Bingetime, is the controller responsible for personal information processed to operate this service. This notice covers the Bingetime website, account features, creator workspace and support communications.

For privacy questions or requests, email support@bingetime.co with “Privacy request” in the subject, or write to the address above.

2. What is operating now

Bingetime is a development preview. Real account sign-in, authentication, profiles, team invitations and creator drafts are available. The public catalog and player use fictional sample material. Sample follows, viewing progress and checkout interactions are held in the current browser session and reset on refresh; they are not real orders or royalty activity.

Live payments, creator payouts, original-video uploads and public creator publishing are not currently enabled. This notice distinguishes current processing from features planned for later. We will update it and provide any necessary additional notice or choices before introducing materially different processing.

3. Information we collect

  • Account and security information: email address, verification status, account identifiers, sign-in and session records, authentication settings, encrypted authenticator setup material and records used to validate recovery codes. We do not need your email account password.
  • Viewing profiles and preferences: display names, maturity limits, autoplay preferences and the selected profile. The persistent library can hold saved-title and follow choices and access records when applicable. A maturity preference is not proof of age; we do not currently ask for identity documents or date of birth to verify age.
  • Creator workspace information: account name and type, team membership and invitations, roles, draft metadata, credits, rights and AI declarations, content questionnaire answers, proposed prices and revision history. Include only personal information you are entitled to provide.
  • Support information: your contact details, messages, relevant account or order references, and any attachments you choose to send. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
  • Technical and operational information: IP addresses and request information processed by hosting and mail systems, browser/device information available with requests, error information, timestamps, authentication rate-limit records and security/audit events. We use these to deliver and protect the service.

4. Why we use information

Where UK data protection law applies, we rely on the following lawful bases as appropriate to the activity:

  • Providing the service you request: processing necessary to establish and operate your account, save your work and preferences, administer authorised team access and answer service requests. This is generally necessary for our contract with you or steps you request before entering one.
  • Legitimate interests: securing accounts, preventing misuse, investigating failures and rights reports, maintaining reliable systems and resolving operational enquiries. We consider the impact on your rights and use proportionate information for those interests.
  • Legal obligations: responding to binding legal requirements and retaining or disclosing records where the law requires it.
  • Consent, where required: any optional marketing, non-essential tracking or other activity that requires consent will have an appropriate choice. You may withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Providing an email address and authentication information is necessary for sign-in. If you do not provide required account information, those features cannot operate. Optional profile details and draft content are your choice. We do not currently run advertising or send an automatic marketing newsletter.

5. Cookies and browser storage

We use essential first-party cookies to keep you signed in and bind an email sign-in request to the browser that requested it. The sign-in browser cookie lasts up to 15 minutes; the session cookie lasts up to seven days unless cleared sooner. Signing out invalidates the session. Expiry of a cookie does not mean every related security record is immediately deleted.

Preview selections and sample progress may be held in browser memory until refresh. Optional sample profile photos are processed in the browser rather than uploaded to our server. We do not currently enable advertising cookies or a third-party audience analytics SDK.

You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies prevents sign-in and some account functions. If we introduce non-essential cookies, we will provide the controls required before using them.

6. Who receives information

Access is limited according to the purpose and permissions involved. Relevant information may be available to:

  • Newton Poole and people authorised to operate, secure or support Bingetime.
  • Hosting, database, backup and transactional-email services supporting the platform, currently through the Achon/Hetzner infrastructure. These services process information needed for their role.
  • Members of creator accounts where the team feature requires it, such as names or email addresses in a team roster and relevant shared drafts. An invitation recipient receives the invitation details. Private viewer information is not provided to creators through audience reports in the current preview.
  • Professional advisers, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where necessary and lawfully justified, or parties involved in protecting rights and resolving disputes.
  • A prospective successor to the service where a transfer is lawful and appropriate safeguards and notices apply.

We do not sell personal information. Saving a private draft does not make it public. A future publishing action will explain what becomes public before submission.

7. Payments, video and future features

Stripe has been selected for payment processing but is not currently collecting customer payments through this preview. When live checkout is introduced, payment details will be handled through Stripe’s payment interface, and we may receive payment status, customer and transaction references and limited payment-method information. Do not send card details by email. Stripe explains its own processing at stripe.com/privacy.

Cloudflare Stream has been selected for future video processing and delivery. Original-media storage and assisted classification are still being integrated. We do not currently send uploaded films for automated classification through this preview. The applicable notices and creator agreement will identify material changes before these features accept real submissions.

We do not use private drafts to train a general-purpose AI model. Current access checks apply account permissions and content eligibility rules; we do not currently make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you through automated profiling.

8. International processing

We operate from the United Kingdom. Hosting, communications and other service providers may process information in other countries. Where UK transfer restrictions apply, we must use an applicable adequacy arrangement or another legally recognised safeguard, such as appropriate contractual protections, before making the relevant restricted transfer.

You can contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your information. We will not treat continued use of the website as blanket consent to an otherwise unlawful international transfer.

9. How long we keep information

We retain account information, profiles and creator work while needed to provide the account or requested feature. Draft revision and audit records support recovery, accountability and investigation. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve the enquiry, handle related complaints and keep necessary records.

When you request closure or deletion, we assess which records can be removed and which must be retained for a legal requirement, an active dispute, security or another justified purpose. We consider the sensitivity of the information, the purpose, applicable legal periods and the risk of keeping it longer than needed. A fixed deletion schedule for every preview data category has not yet been implemented; inactivity does not automatically delete an account.

Encrypted backups may retain earlier copies until they are replaced or removed. Information retained only in backups is not intended for ordinary use and may be restored for recovery. Ask us about the retention criteria or the status of a deletion request.

10. Security

We use measures appropriate to the information and service, including encrypted transport, access controls, secure session handling, protected credentials, optional account authenticators and encrypted database backups. Administrative access is restricted. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Keep your email account and authentication methods secure. Report a suspected vulnerability or compromise to security@bingetime.co. Do not include passwords, recovery codes or private access links in the report.

11. Your rights and complaints

Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you may request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You can also withdraw consent where processing relies on it. These rights are not absolute; we will explain any applicable limitation.

Email support to exercise a right. We may need proportionate verification to avoid disclosing or changing another person’s information. We normally respond to a UK data-rights request within one month; lawful extensions or exceptions may apply and will be explained.

You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or another competent regulator. You do not have to contact us first, although we welcome the opportunity to address your concern.

12. Children

The current preview is not designed for independent child accounts. Viewing profiles and maturity preferences are not parental verification or age assurance. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact support so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

We will establish and publish the relevant age and guardian arrangements before introducing features specifically intended for children.

13. Updates and contact

We may update this notice as the service changes. The effective date and version appear at the top. Material changes will receive appropriate notice, and any additional consent required by law will be obtained. A privacy notice is not a request for blanket consent.

For assistance, visit Support or email support@bingetime.co. Our Terms of Service describe use of the preview.
